Saxophonist Joonatan Rautiola performs Schumann, Debussy, Villa-Lobos and Denisov, whilst contemporary Finnish music is represented through Tapio Tuomela. A former student at both the Paris Conservatoire and the Sibelius Academy, Joonatan Rautiola has appeared as a concerto soloist with Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Tapiola Sinfonietta, and also given a Carnegie Hall recital. In the music of Schumann, Debussy, Villa-Lobos and Denisov, Rautiola brings well-known names, yet with lesser-known music for his instrument, the saxophone. Contemporary Finnish music is represented through Tapio Tuomela, a composer, pianist and conductor.
